Tanzania is a country found within East African Countries blessed with plenty of various Natural resources of which it attracts investment in different spheres. Tanzania Government has initiated various initiatives to attract investment of these blessed resources both in local investment as well as foreign investment. Tanzania has enacted several legislations to implement its objectives as far as investment is concern.
The first move was initiated by the Government through its parliament, by enacting the Principle legislation INVESTMENT ACT No. 26 OF 1997 of which it establishes the centre “Tanzania Investment Centre” commonly known as “T.I.C” that deals with investment aspects only. The Centre is a Primary Agency of the Government to co-ordinate, encourage, promote, and facilitate investment in Tanzania and to advice the government on Investment policy and other related matters on Investment. The basic function of the T.I.C is to initiate and support measures that will enhance the Investment climate in the country for both local and foreign investors. T.I.C also provides some incentives to the investors both foreigners and local investors so as to attract investment.
